Lindos village has been known since antiquity. Today it’s still going strong and lies 15 kilometres to the east. There, you can enjoy the view of the white houses clinging on to the rock of the Acropolis with their gardens strewn with nodding bougainvillea in their various shades of red and white.
“Prosonisi”, at 25 kilometeres to the west, is a surfer’s paradise.

This small valley, along the length of which runs the river Pelekanos, is, as the name suggests, brimming with butterflies flitting amongst a riot of flowers, pines, planes, fig trees and babbling brooks! Spring is the time when the valley is showing itself off in all its finery! The ravine’s steep sides have over the centuries chiseled out numerous small waterfalls along the length of the valley.
The Seven Springs flow out of the earth, creating a small brook with ice-cold water leading to a tunnel in the mountain. Many fearless visitors have braved the fifteen-minute passage through this tunnel.
For those who enjoy the experience of the cloister, situated 10 kilometres north of Horizon Line, between Asklipeio and Laerma, is Tharri monastery. The monastery can be reached either by car or on foot. The walk from Asklipeio to Tharri takes in verdant vegetation and streams along the way which linger long in the visitor’s memory.
